- There is a problem with Eudora 2.0 (& 1.4b22) which makes them incompatible
- with NT. The problem is with the compiler they were using, or so I've heard.
- Eudora 2.0.1 almost works with NT; it dies on long (>200 line) messages, but
- works fine otherwise. 2.0.2 is promised Real Soon Now, and should fix the
- problem.

- Subject: Getting in with dial-up SLIP
-
- I'm thinking of asking my local Internet provider for a SLIP dial-up
- account. I have a 14.4K modem. The question I have is, what software
- do I need to make this phone connection work and be able to click my way
- around from within Windows 3.1?
-
- I've read about and find out people talk about TCP/IP, Winsock, Mosaic,
- etc... but no one has spelled out the 1, 2, 3, steps of what software I
- need, where to get it, and how to configure it. If I had a soundcard, I
- would also like to be able to hear those sound recordings from MTV.com
- (?)
-
- So, could you please email me and give me a list of programs I need
- and maybe, where to find them (FTP or commercial vendor), and how to set
- them up. Thanks...

- Subject: Windows NT SLIP/PPP ?
-
- Ok, I guess my last post wondering if Winsock would Run on NT was
- not quite what I wanted to ask, For all you woundering, Winsock is built
- into the TCP/IP protocol of NT, but I need software to do a dial-in
- slip/ppp connection to a remote network (internet & others) But all the
- software I have seen use drivers for WFW3.11, any clues?

- While waiting for the Novell patch you can make an entry in a local host
- file to override the DNS query which gets corrupted when querying hosts
- that have 5 or more IP addresses.
-
- Note, these machines are easy to detect if you use the hostinfo program
- for LWP on net-dist.mit.edu:/pub/dos/potluck
